Announcing SOC 2 Type I Certification

What is SOC 2 Type I? 🛡️

SOC 2 Type I is a rigorous auditing standard that evaluates an organization’s system design and the controls in place to protect data at a specific point in time. For Violet Labs, it’s an assurance to our customers that we follow today’s best practices in cybersecurity and data management. It’s also the foundation upon which we will build as we aim to achieve SOC 2 Type II, which will involve continued monitoring of our systems over a three-month period.

How We Got Here: The Role of Vanta and Insight Assurance 🤝

We partnered with Vanta to streamline the SOC 2 process, leveraging their platform to automate tests, monitor our connected infrastructure, and maintain compliance. Vanta also provided us with a clear checklist and outlines to write the necessary documentation. They even helped connect us with Insight Assurance, our trusted auditor for the process. Insight Assurance verified that we had the correct systems and procedures in place and granted us this important certification.
